Episode 75: Dave Jimenez of Octane Athletics

We are joined this week by Dave Jimenez of the Octane Athletics podcast. Dave began his journey to better health in May of 2011, starting with workouts at the gym three days a week and cycling on the weekends. As a diabetic, diet modification was imperative. He slowly began to feel better as the weight began to come off. Then the inevitable happened. He was bitten by two things. Endurance Sports and a passion for a healthy food lifestyle. As so begins the new path.

Dave’s podcast, along with co-host Randy Messman (a former guest on the show), can be found in any of the usual location (iTunes, Stitcher, etc.) or on the website HERE. His personal site, with his story, his training, etc. can be found at YurFit. Dave is also a representative for AdvoCare products and a Gatorade Brand Ambassador. Here is Dave’s presentation on race prep from his YurFit website: http://www.slideshare.net/BigDave4/slideshelf

  • Rae Tirado’s first duathlon and her feeling bad about being the last to finish
  • Lots of techie talk about the art of podcasting
  • Mention to St. Pete Running Company
  • The AdvoCare protocol worked well for Dave, but he wants to make sure everyone knows it’s not a cure-all for all people. We think it is worth checking out. See it through the YurFit site.
